Business Need
A major financial firm desired to use the Internet as a means to provide a more valuable form of communication with its most prestigious clients and its employees. They had a significant amount of content that needs to be aggregated and published for its employees and for a select set of customers - their high net worth individuals. The major off-the-shelf packages (e.g. Vignette, Interwoven, Broadvision, ATG) did not offer the type of flexibility that they required. In addition, they needed needed to be able to convert data from existing databases to populate its intranet/extranets.
Project Overview
SPS implemented Kiwi, our own content management tool. This Java/XML-based tool has comprehensive workflow features and has ability to manage and publish any type of content. (e.g. a research report published in a PDF format, charts graphs, voice, JPEG, MIDI, TIFF, Video format).
Kiwi supports an unlimited amount of user defined workflows to create, update, edit and modify the content. It also has the ability to get content from outside sources via syndication using XML. We also designed an intuitive interface for their employees (intranet) and for select clients (portal site) that represented firm's desired brand.
